The Warmth of a Candle Flame
by, Matha Wood
This week has been extremely frigid here in the Midwest as
well as other parts of the country. As these cold winter
winds blow there is warmth and comfort in lighting scented
jar candles in your home. These scented soy chunk candles
can impart relaxing comfort in a room and add an ambiance
of warmth and serenity. Humans have always been warmed by
the heat of fire, even one as small as a candle flame. The
mere presence of a flame, no matter how small, give the
human psyche the feeling of warmth and security.
Adding Fragrance for Additional Warmth
When you add warm, rich fragrances it makes your home a
cozy place to escape the freezing winter temperatures. Or
by adding fragrances associated with warmer temperatures,
like spring or summer scents you can "trick" your senses
into feeling the warmth of those seasons. We recognize the
warmth of a fire, but we also associate certain fragrances
with warmth and comfort, as well. The aromas of cinnamon,
cedar wood, mulled cider, gingerbread, hot apple pie, or
even coffee scented candles; any fragrance with warm spices
delivers a feeling of being enveloped in warmth. Choosing
fragrances that remind you of spring, like lilac, lavender,
or victorian rose or summer fragrances like berry blast,
fun in the sun, or coconut banana can also give you the
feeling of those warmer seasonal breezes blowing through
your home.
Light a Scented Soy Candle and Enjoy the Warmth
As the bitter winter winds continue to blow outside, there
is nothing better than to light a scented chunk candle with
warm spicy fragrances or spring and summer fragrances, curl
up with a soft and snuggly comforter, a good book, and
enjoy not only the fragrance, but the warm glow of
candlelight.
